Week 2 House Training Progress

The Goal of Week 2:   We have increased the area she is free to roam in from just the mudroom and the dog room to both of these during the day using our scheduled outs. Also we are starting to space the schedule for the most efficient and effective times to go out to reduce the number of visits needed out (unless she gets sick, a growth spurt, and so on).  Additionally though, anytime she is barking at the sliding door (where she goes out) or goes downstairs more than an hour from her last bathroom, we are sure to let her her then.  We want her to understand the sliding door will open for her if she wants to go.

Amount of accidents on Week 2:  (1) 9/12 7:45 am pooped and peed in the mudroom before she got out first thing in the morning, (2) 9/12 11:40 am peed while training in dog room (3)  9/17 around 11:40 am peed in dog room, but I did not see it happen.  I found it later near a chair.  So I am guessing the time it probably happened on based on what we were doing that day.

Current Schedule for Housetraining:

  1. First thing in the morning, she has always pooped and peed.  If she wakes up we go before our usual time, otherwise we typically bring her out at 7:45 am.
  2. 10:00 am out to poop and/or pee.  This is usually her second poop.  If she has played hard with a friend in the morning, then I take her out at 9:15 am or so (stuff moves through her faster when she is busy with a friend).
  3. 12:00 pm I bring her out before she eats.  This is usually a time she pees.
  4. 2:00 pm (used to be a stop in between but I that is obsolete) is usually a time she will need to pee.
  5. 2:55 pm is another time she usually has to pee (the 2 pm time may be phasing out).
  6. 5:00 pm out before eating, and she usually needs to pee.
  7. 5:30 pm I take her out if she has not peed before.
  8. 7:30 pm She usually needs to pee at this time.
  9. 8:30 pm This has just recently become her last one for the night, and it is usually a poop.
The scheduled outs have reduced (pretty much) from 11 on Week 1 to about 9 on Week 2.

In general, it looks like you could be safe for 2 hours after she does her scheduled poop or pee.

She usually poops 3 times a day (on an occasion, she will do four).

Her pees have reduced to 6-7 times instead of 9-12 times a day.

Remember a growth spurt can completely change this schedule.

The schedule is to create muscle memory in Padme and to start to widen the gap between when she needs to go out.

NOTE:  I AM WRITING THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF WEEK 3.  THERE HAS RECENTLY BEEN AN INCREASE IN PEES AND POOPS.  SHE HAS JUST STARTED (TWO DAYS) WAKING UP AT 4 AM AND NEEDING TO GO.  ALSO SHE IS BACK TO NEEDING TO GO AT 10PM.  BIOLOGICALLY HER BODY IS CHANGING AND THUS SO ARE HER BATHROOM HABITS.
